Why Lantern Row
Support That's Built Around You, Not Around a Product
Most assistance centres are attached to something they want to sell you. Lantern Row isn't. We run sessions, build systems, and write playbooks — then we hand everything over and step back.
Back to HomeWhat You Get When You Book with Us
Six things that make the difference between a session you forget and a system you still use a year later.
Sessions Led by People, Not Slides
Every workshop is run by a facilitator who can answer questions, adjust the pace, and switch languages mid-session if needed. There's no pre-recorded material or self-paced module.
Physical Materials Included in Every Service
Workbooks, printed guides, labelled folders, and index sheets come with each service at no extra charge. You don't need an app or subscription to use any of it after we leave.
Assistance in English, BM, and Mandarin
Language preference is noted at booking. We assign staff accordingly so the session flows naturally in the language that works for you — not the one that's convenient for us.
Follow-Up Built Into the Price
Budget workshops include a group follow-up call two weeks later. Community advisory includes a 30-day check-in. These are not optional add-ons — they're part of the service from the start.
Transparent Pricing, No Upsells
The price listed is the price you pay. There is no premium tier, no optional module, and no referral to a paid partner. What you see on the solutions page is the complete package.
Central KL — Easy to Reach by LRT
We're at Level 8 of Maju Junction Mall on Jalan Sultan Ismail, a short walk from Chow Kit LRT. Weekend slots mean you don't need to take time off work to attend.
Experience With Real Household Situations
Our staff have backgrounds in adult learning, community development, and document management — not financial sales or product distribution. When a household has a mixed income (salary plus hawker stall revenue, for example), or a carer managing documents for an elderly parent, our facilitators have seen that situation before and know how to adapt the session to fit it.
Since 2019, Lantern Row has run workshops for over 420 households across the Klang Valley, completed home filing setups for more than 180 families and carers, and delivered community advisory engagements for 35 resident associations, community centres, and non-profit organisations.
Staff observe at least four full sessions before leading independently
Materials reviewed and updated every quarter to reflect current document renewal windows
Facilitators fluent in at least two of the three supported languages
Feedback reviewed after every session and used to update content
Workshop structure allows each participant to work through their own income and expense figures, not a generic example
Filing setup is split across two visits to avoid rushing — sorting happens first, digital backup second
Advisory engagements include discovery workshops so the playbook reflects the actual organisation, not a template
All deliverables are written to be maintained by the client independently after the engagement ends
A Process Designed to Be Used After We Leave
A lot of training and consulting produces great outputs that stop being used within three months. We design around the opposite outcome. Every worksheet, folder label, and playbook section is written so the person who uses it every day — not the facilitator — finds it straightforward to maintain.
For the budget workshop, the spreadsheet template works on a phone without any account login. For the home filing setup, the printed guide explains what each folder holds and when documents in it need to be renewed. For community advisory, the playbook is written in plain language so a new volunteer reading it for the first time can follow it.
A Centre You Can Walk Into Without an Appointment
For workshops and visits we ask you to book ahead, but the centre itself is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and Saturday to Sunday, 9am to 4pm. If you have a quick question, want to browse the materials before committing, or just want to understand whether a service is right for your situation, you can walk in without any prior contact.
Staff at the front desk are available during all opening hours. There is no callback queue, no online ticketing system, and no automated assistant — just a person you can talk to directly.
Walk-in consultations available during all opening hours at no charge
Response to email enquiries within one business day
Language-matched staff for booked sessions
Weekend and weekday slots to work around employment schedules
All prices include materials. No hidden fees, no referral charges, no upsells.
Fixed Prices That Cover Everything
Each service is priced as a single, all-inclusive package. The budget workshop at RM 450 covers three hours of facilitation, the printed workbook, the spreadsheet template, and the follow-up group call. The home filing setup at RM 2,300 covers both visits, all folders and labels, the digital scanning session, the printed how-to guide, and the renewal calendar.
There is no separate charge for materials, no booking fee, and no charge for the initial walk-in consultation. The community advisory engagement at RM 4,500 includes the discovery workshops, the written playbook, two staff training sessions, and the 30-day check-in.
Outcomes You Can Measure Yourself
The goal of every service is something you can check: a household budget that you're actually tracking three months later, a filing system where you can find any document in under a minute, a community organisation where the enquiry-handling process no longer depends on one particular volunteer being available.
We ask participants to complete a short feedback form immediately after each session, and we follow up two to four weeks later. The most common responses we get are about finding documents faster and having a clearer picture of monthly expenses — both outcomes that don't require a product purchase to maintain.
Workshop participants receive a spreadsheet template they can use independently after the session ends
Home filing clients receive a printed guide so the system can be handed to another household member
Advisory playbooks are written so a new volunteer can read and follow them without additional training
Follow-up calls and check-ins let participants raise questions that emerged during real-world use
How We Compare to Typical Providers
Most general assistance services offer one of three things: online self-help content, paid consultancy attached to a product, or government services with long queues and rigid formats. Here's where Lantern Row sits differently.

What You Won't Find Elsewhere
Several things about how Lantern Row operates aren't common in the assistance sector in Malaysia.
The "Stall Details" Approach
Before any service begins, you receive a one-page summary of exactly what the session covers, what you'll leave with, and what happens next. No surprises on the day.
Group Workshop Format
The budget workshop runs in groups of up to twelve. Participants often find that hearing how others handle irregular income or festive season expenses is as useful as the facilitator's content.
On-Site Home Filing Visits
The filing setup comes to your home. We bring the folders, labels, and scanning equipment. You don't need to sort anything before we arrive — the first visit starts from wherever things currently are.
B2B Advisory for Small Organisations
Most operational consulting targets mid-size businesses. Our community advisory is sized and priced for residents' committees and non-profits — organisations that typically can't access the same support.
Deposit-at-Booking Payment Structure
For the two larger services, you pay 50% at booking and the remainder on completion of the first visit. You're not committing the full amount before you've experienced the first session.
Free First Conversation, Always
Walk-in consultations are free. If you're not sure which service fits or whether any of them fits, come in and ask. There's no pressure to book on the same visit.
