Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 10 August 2025  ยท  Effective: 10 August 2025

These terms govern your use of the Lantern Row website at lanternyrow.sbs and your participation in any Lantern Row service โ€” including workshops, home filing visits, and community advisory engagements. Please read them before submitting an enquiry or booking.

1. Definitions

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By using the website or booking any Lantern Row Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are booking on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.

Submitting the website contact form or making a booking constitutes your acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or book a Service.

3. Service Description and Availability

Lantern Row currently provides three services from its Kuala Lumpur centre:

Services are available to participants located within the Klang Valley region of Malaysia. We may accept bookings from outside this region for the advisory service on a case-by-case basis. Workshop sessions are conducted at the Maju Junction Mall centre; filing visits and advisory sessions take place at the client's location or as otherwise agreed.

All Services are educational and operational in nature. Nothing we provide constitutes financial advice, legal advice, medical advice, or any other regulated professional service.

4. User Responsibilities

When using the website or participating in a Service, you agree to:

5. Intellectual Property

All Content produced by Lantern Row โ€” including workbooks, spreadsheet templates, folder guides, operations playbooks, and website text โ€” remains the intellectual property of Lantern Row. By purchasing a Service, you receive a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the Content delivered to you for your own household or organisational purposes only.

You may not copy, adapt, or distribute Content for commercial purposes, share it with third parties for their commercial use, or present it as your own work without attribution to Lantern Row.

6. Payment Terms

All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

Budget Basics Workshop

Full payment of RM 450 is required at the time of booking to confirm your place. Workshop places are limited to 12 participants and are allocated on a first-confirmed basis.

Home Filing Setup and Community Advisory

A deposit of 50% is collected at the time of booking. The remaining 50% is due on completion of the first home visit or discovery workshop session, as applicable.

Refunds and Cancellations

Refund requests should be sent to [email protected].

7. Service Delivery

Workshops

Sessions run as scheduled. If a session does not reach a minimum of 4 participants by 48 hours before the start, Lantern Row reserves the right to reschedule. Participants will be notified and offered an alternative date or a full refund.

Home Filing Visits

Visit dates and times are agreed at booking. Staff will arrive at the agreed time. If access to the property is not possible at the agreed time and no advance notice was given, the visit may be counted as completed for scheduling purposes and an additional visit fee may apply.

Advisory Engagements

The scope of the eight-week engagement is agreed in writing before the deposit is collected. Changes to scope requested after the engagement begins may require an adjustment to the fee. Both parties must agree to any scope changes in writing before additional work begins.

8. Disclaimers

Lantern Row Services are provided for educational and operational support purposes only. We make no representation that participating in a workshop or implementing a filing or advisory system will produce any specific financial outcome, administrative outcome, or other measurable result.

Content provided in workshops is general in nature and is not tailored to any individual's specific financial, legal, or tax situation. Participants should seek advice from a licensed professional for matters that require it.

The website and its Content are provided "as available". We do not warrant that the website will be error-free or uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, Lantern Row's total liability to you for any claim arising from a Service or the website is limited to the amount you paid for the specific Service that gave rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of data, loss of income, or administrative errors that occur after a Service has been delivered.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Malaysian law.

Events beyond our reasonable control โ€” including power outages, government directives, or natural events โ€” may delay or prevent delivery of a Service without constituting a breach of these terms.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Lantern Row and its staff from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of Service Content, or any false or misleading information you provided when booking.

11. Termination

Lantern Row may refuse or terminate a booking if a participant's conduct during a session is disruptive, threatening, or contrary to these terms. In such cases, no refund will be issued for sessions already attended.

You may cancel a booking at any time subject to the refund conditions in section 6. Cancellations should be communicated by email to [email protected].

Sections 5 (Intellectual Property), 8 (Disclaimers), 9 (Limitation of Liability), and 13 (Governing Law) survive the termination or expiry of a booking.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

If a dispute arises, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through direct discussion. Contact us at [email protected] with a clear description of the issue. We will respond within 10 business days.

If direct discussion does not resolve the matter, either party may refer the dispute to the Consumer Claims Tribunal Malaysia (Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia) for claims within the Tribunal's jurisdiction.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any legal proceedings that cannot be resolved through the Tribunal shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur.

13. General Provisions

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page indicates when the current version was published. For material changes, we will post a notice on the website homepage for at least 30 days before the change takes effect.

Continued use of the website or booking of Services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
